Google Expands Free AI Training for Teachers to More Regions

New learning modules focus on classroom preparation, assessments and human oversight.
Google is extending its AI Educator Series to additional markets, including Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Australia and sub-Saharan Africa. The company announced the expansion on November 3, describing the programme as free, on-demand training designed around practical classroom tasks.
The series had already expanded beyond the United States to several markets, including India, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea and the United Kingdom and Ireland. Google said the next expansion would take place over the coming months, rather than confirming that every new location already had the same training schedule.
The company also announced November modules for US educators beginning on November 4. Topics include interactive assessments, game-based learning and assignments that encourage deeper thinking. Examples in the announcement describe teachers using AI for preparation and learning materials. These accounts are presented by Google and should not be read as independent evidence that every teacher will achieve the same results.
Context: Effective professional development involves more than introducing a tool. Educators need to judge whether generated material is accurate, suitable for their students and consistent with their institution’s expectations. Human review remains important when a system produces questions, examples or feedback that could influence learning.
The expansion may widen access to training, but local language support and programme availability can differ. Schools considering participation would need to check the relevant official training information. The broader measure of success will be whether teachers can use new skills responsibly in their own classrooms, rather than the number of markets included in an announcement or the volume of material generated during training.
